Guiding Values for Mentoring

• Recognizes that people are responsible for making knowledgeable decisions. (Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 3:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:7)

• Embraces the reality that encouraging interpersonal relationships spurs people to actively pursue a life moving in a positive and desired direction. (Colossians 3:11-17)

• Affirms that providing a safe environment motivates people to listen and learn from God and one another to grow in all aspects of life. (John 14:26; Hebrews 10:24-25)

The strategic pathway facilitates personal growth by providing focused guidance, the transfer of knowledge and experience, learning opportunities, support, feedback, accountability, and encouragement to empower individuals to grow and achieve their desired results. Strategic mentoring includes collaboratively developing a plan that will identify goals, action steps, mileposts, barriers, required learning, and practical application.

• Supportive

The supportive pathway facilitates personal growth by providing general guidance, support, feedback, accountability, and encouragement to enable individuals to grow and achieve their desired results.
